Multi-Market Aggregation
Battery aggregation for any type of site and connection
We can aggregate your standalone or co-located batteries on the wholesale markets (day-ahead and intraday) through our market access channels AND on the balancing markets (capacity mechanism, FCR, and aFRR) through our reserve management partner. There are no limits on connection capacity or on the types of battery sites we can aggregate; we take into account injection/withdrawal profiles, co-located sites, and behind-the-meter sites.

Front-of-the-meter site
The battery is the only one at its connection point.

Co-located site
The battery and the generator share a common connection point.

Behind-the-meter site
The battery is connected at an industrial site.
Our optimization algorithms ensure you high net earnings
StackEase’s technology has been developed over several years by experts in battery optimization and value maximization. Our algorithms ensure multi-market optimization at 15-minute intervals, as well as intra-day re-optimization on the aFRR and continuous intraday markets to maximize your net revenue after accounting for TURPE and degradation. Our performance metrics are publicly available via our index.
Operations are transparent at all times
You have access to a dashboard that displays real-time, continuous updates on all financial transactions conducted through your battery systems, including when battery energy is settled on an intraday basis (aFRR). The dashboard provides 15-minute resolution for transactions and is accessible via a web browser.
Ways to secure your income
To guarantee all or part of the revenue generated, we offer the following contracts through our utility partner:
- Day-ahead swap: helps limit market risk
- Floor: guarantees you a minimum income; any earnings above that amount are shared
- Tolling: guarantees you a fixed income
Contractual steps
Signing of an aggregation agreement, and, if necessary, a floor or tolling agreement arranged by our partner
Signing of the CART/CARD network access agreements, the supply agreement, and the agreement to join the StackEase balancing area
Commissioning; commencement of operations in the wholesale markets: day-ahead and intraday
Battery certification for participation on the balancing services. Comprehensive multi-market optimization.
The process from signing the contract to commissioning takes approximately 3 months. If you are in the financing phase, we will conduct a revenue analysis free of charge, provided that you subsequently sign an aggregation agreement.
FAQ
StackEase will aggregate all of your storage sites so that they can participate in system services
Not at this time; the process for becoming a reserve manager is lengthy. However, we can help you maximize the value of your reserve assets through our partnership with a reserve manager. The list of reserve managers is regularly updated by RTE; the list as of June 1, 2025, is available here: https://www.services-rte.com/files/live/sites/services-rte/files/Liste%20RR%20au%201er%20Juin%202025.pdf
No, however, a supplier is required to collect taxes related to the consumption of battery accessories, and this information is included in the grid access contracts (CARD/CART). This is not a requirement for operation; we can recommend suppliers to you.
This is a three-party agreement: between you and StackEase for aggregation, and between you and the utility for the revenue guarantee.
Yes, we re-optimize the batteries on the continuous intraday market, even if they are already part of a dispatch schedule resulting from the previous day’s FCR, aFRR, and day-ahead auctions.
