Background
The energy transition toward a carbon-free power grid poses considerable challenges. The growing integration of renewable energy sources requires high-performance storage solutions and robust grid balancing mechanisms. Grid-scale batteries offer a promising solution, but their operation and optimization are complex. A battery can generate revenue through various mechanisms, each with its own specific characteristics. However, none of these mechanisms, taken in isolation, guarantees the system’s economic viability. To ensure profitability and accelerate the deployment of these technologies, it is imperative to aggregate and optimize all of these mechanisms.
Our algorithm addresses this challenge by providing real-time offers and battery management instructions. This solution integrates and optimizes the revenue and costs associated with batteries, thereby maximizing their lifespan and promoting their development. Following a simulation-based development phase, we began operations in January 2025 and are seeking support to structure them.
